What is the cost of town planning?

Planning

Project development is expensive and incurs costs from a variety of fields, including specialist consultants.
Engaging a qualified Town Planner benefits your development by enabling you to gain appropriate advice for your project the first time.

Town Planner Consultant Costs

Costs associated with Town Planning depend on the extent and complexity of a development. Fees are determined on a project-by-project basis as the constraints and requirements for each site will vary. Our Newcastle Town Planning consultants undertake a vast array of investigation to prepare reports in accordance with the current planning legislation and policies.  By engaging with a Town Planning consultant, you are ensuring that your project is provided with professional advice that will benefit your development in the long term.

Town Planning consultants identify planning policies which apply to the development by undertaking investigation of State Environmental Planning Policies, Local Environmental Plans, Development Control Plans, Guidelines and other policies, they identify potential issues that are associated with the development site and immediate surrounds, for instance, impacts of heritage, traffic, contamination, flooding, etc. and provide their professional recommendation based on their experience of what supporting documentation and/or reports are required by external consultants for the development to be undertaken.

For example, Town Planners prepare environmental reports such as Statement of Environmental Effects Reports which accompany development applications to local Councils and can submit the applications via the NSW Planning Portal. Preparation of a Statement of Environmental Effects report requires a desktop analysis, site inspection, and investigation of potential issues affecting the site and surrounds, all prepared in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and any additional requirements triggered by the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000, or any other relevant environmental policies.

Specialist assistance is necessary to efficiently navigate through the relevant planning legislation, and our Planners can provide you with a path forward.

Fees are tailored to your specific requirements, and ultimately can minimise project costs by providing experienced professional advice.
