Under Principle 2 of the policy, agencies are required to establish data standards and a common data model to ensure that they receive and maintain consistent, interoperable information across the asset lifecycle. Monteath & Powys has actively supported government agencies, universities, and airports in establishing a governance framework, by consulting with internal and external stakeholders to identify individual and organisational requirements; developing data standards customised their needs; aligning with international frameworks such as ISO 19650, Uniclass, and COBie; and embedding national standards into their governance frameworks, such as AS5488 for subsurface utility information. Our collaborative approach delivers data standards that are both technically robust and practical for procurement and contract deliverables, aligning with Action 2.3 and Action 3.3 of the policy.

Monteath & Powys supports clients in defining Organisational Information Requirements (OIR), Asset Information Requirements (AIR), and Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) from a spatial and surveying perspective, all of which are key components of ISO 19650 and required under Action 2.1 of the policy. These documents are pivotal for the successful development of a Common Data Environment (CDE) or Common Data Model (CDM).
