Anambah to Branxton Regionally Significant Growth Area

Planning

By Leena Sebastian

The Anambah–Branxton Regionally Significant Growth Area identified in the Hunter Regional Plan 2041 is set to become a major focus for housing delivery in the Lower Hunter. Containing a mix of established urban areas and residential zoned land, this precinct is expected to deliver up to 15,000 homes, with scope for further growth over time.

The precinct is strategically positioned within the regional transport network, at the convergence of the New England Highway, Hunter Expressway and Main Northern Rail Line, spanning parts of the Cessnock, Maitland and Singleton local government areas.

A Draft Structure Plan is currently underway to establish a coordinated strategic framework for land use and infrastructure planning. Once finalised, this plan will play an important role in shaping how the area develops.

If you are a property owner or developer exploring opportunities within this emerging growth area, our planning team can help you understand what’s in the pipeline and how it may benefit you.
